Yet Another Website for CIOs?
Not quite.
The idea for a site like cioessentials.com was initially developed back in 2001, but for whatever the reason, it never came to fruition.
Fast-forward to late 2009. We were brainstorming ways we could make a wider contribution to both the business of IT and the ever changing, important work of the CIO and others serving in IT roles. We agreed we should create a place to collect and share our thoughts around IT leadership in all its forms.
This new place would draw on what we’ve seen, done, and learned over our collective 40 or so years “in the business”. It seemed like the right time to revisit the cioessentials.com concept.
And so, here we – and you – are!
At cioessentials.com, we’ll talk about a range of topics including business, leadership, technology, and the people it serves. We’ll also reach out to industry leaders, bloggers and consultants to get their thoughts.
What’s equally important is what’s on your mind, so please feel free to share your thoughts, experiences, and vision related to any of the topics mentioned above (and any we haven’t mentioned that you think are a fit).
We want cioessentials.com to be a gathering place for IT thought leaders and those who’d like to be – you need not be a CIO (or even play one on TV) to participate.
Welcome to cioessentials.com. We’re glad you’re here.
here.
